How to establish a Public Internet VPN with Ford Motor Company
To establish a Public Internet VPN tunnel with Ford Motor Company, the following assumptions must be understood by the Supplier/Trading Partner:
- Supplier/Trading Partner understands that the Public Internet VPN solution uses the Public Internet as the transport network. There is no SLA covering performance, availability or access. It is the Supplier/Trading Partners responsibility to provide Public Internet access, monitoring and support to protect against transport network problems.
- Supplier/Trading Partner must have the expertise necessary to configure and bring the tunnel up on their end.
- Supplier/Trading Partner is responsible for configuring and troubleshooting the IPSec device at the end of the connection.
- Supplier/Trading Partner must provide Global Supplier Connectivity Team with their IT contact list and communicate any updates. This ensures successful communication of any network infrastructure changes that could impact the connectivity.
Requirements
- Supplier/Trading Partner must already have a high-speed Public Internet connection
- Supplier/Trading Partner must have publicly routable IP address space. Requests with private / RFC1918 or RFC6598 addressing will not be accepted
- An IPSec IKEv2 compatible device which supports site to site tunnels using Public IP Addresses
- This connection is strictly for Gateway-Gateway VPNs. We do not allow client VPN connections
- Ford Motor Company does not currently support Cisco Meraki based VPN tunnel endpoints
